I think this story is absolutely brilliant. Take a government employee tasked with writing tickets for violations and an elderly WWII vet. The one has received complaints about the state of the other’s yard and home the second just isn’t able to take care of things like he’d like to. This could have ended badly, this could have been another government drone ‘just doing his job’ but it didn’t. The government employee saw what was really going on and went above and beyond. He recruited help for the veteran and they did more than fix up his yard and home, they gave him something to smile about!
When asked about his actions, the government employee stated “It’s not in the job description, it’s in the description of a human being.”
